About Cookaway Food Breaks
Cookaway Foodbreaks was established and run by Sarah Partridge. Her professional approach gives guests very full experience. She ensures everyone works hard in an enjoyable, stress free atmosphere. There is always encouragement and help where need, so that in no time at all delicious, skilfully prepared meals are on the table for all to enjoy.
Very few people can now enjoy being taught skills in cookery and the art is disappearing. Sarah feels that food technology taught in schools today does not make up for the skills lost with the demise of Home Economics. Instead it encourages the use of purchased ready prepared food, which can be expensive, high in unnecessary calories and bland in flavour. Although everyone today seems busier than ever, all of us hanker for those occasions when a meal successfully made at home can be cooked and served for friends, family or that special occasion. The cook as host must enjoy the event too, so preparation and planning are essential.
Sarah has rarely found anyone who could not cook once skills were explained, or who did not enjoy this interesting and vital craft. Ingredients are fresh, in season and attainable. Extravagant foods are avoided so that economical dishes full of flavour and character can shine through in their own right. By the end of the weekend guests are amazed at the variety of dishes they have prepared and they depart with their Cookaway aprons and recipe folders, ready to repeat their new skills at home.
Several hundred very satisfied guests have taken part in Cookaway Foodbreaks and many have returned for yet another rural get away weekend; full of new recipes, skills and experiences.
